This is a project where we had to study and identify, understand and absorb all about trends and forecasting. Keeping this in mind, we had to design any of the 3 garment themes- Epicene, Reversible, or a draped garment.

I chose to make an epicene garment, inspired by the grunge era and hand embroidery.

Grunge era started without the conscious of it's growth in the 1980's. Music and fashion played a huge role amongst the youngsters without the bands realising it's influnce. Because of the unconscious impact, it became a statement. Artists preferred wearing clothes that one would normally wear at home while performimg. Plaid shirts were very common for the artists and hence plaids became an unofficial symbol of grunge. 

Colaborating with the idea of hand embroidery, which is  time consuming, and romantic in it's own way, I wanted to show the rawness of these two themes.
